The 17 year olds are all a part of the High School's Pro-Life Club..Speaker at this years convention was Melanie Welsch-Pritchard the educational director of the Life Educational Corporation (Arizona Right to Life) and founder of TheUndergroundProject.com and Refuge Clothing Co. She taught youth leaders valuable skills to talk to their peers about abortion and other life issues..The youth conference took place Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Busch Student Center on the campus of St. Louis University in Midtown St. Louis. .?The theme of the Convention was "Defend Life: Empowering Teens with the Knowledge and Practical Skills to Defend the Culture of Life." The event is being co-sponsored by the archdiocesan Catholic Youth Apostolate and its Office of Youth Ministry and St. Louis University's Students for Life organization. .The format of the Convention was centered on a talk by Melanie Welsch-Pritchard and on a documentary film about how people discuss the Live issue. Shelly Fravala, program coordinator for the Respect Life Apostolate said "We hope to give teens practical knowledge and help them put it into practice. It will be an interactive presentation."
