She sat with Sister Barbara Moore, a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, who went to Selma Alabama to march for civil rights in 1965. Many religious attended the Votive Mass for peace and justice at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis following the protesting over unrest in Ferguson. The St. Louis suburb is still under great stress after the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a Ferguson Police officer.
