Lisa Johnston | email@example.com Interior window areas are surrounded with scaffolding and cloth barrier at the Basilica of St. Louis, King. The Old Cathedral, is being restored. After 180 years of weather extremes resulting in extensive damage to its exterior stonework, columns and windows, the $15million effort will restore the architectural deignity of the oldest public building still standing in the City of St. Louis. It is the last remnant of the Lewis and Clark riverfront and the only building in te City that remains in the hands of its origianl owners.
